As a common engine, small diesel engines are used in many places. Some small businesses require long-term use of diesel engines, while others require regular use of diesel engines. When saving them, we need to know the following points:
1. Choose a good place to save it. When farmers keep small diesel engines, they mostly do not consider natural weather conditions, do not pay attention to wind direction, and do not consider the drainage situation of the construction site. Instead, they intentionally place the small diesel engines under the eaves. However, due to long-term dripping of water from the eaves, the ground beneath the eaves is sunken, which is not conducive to drainage and can easily cause small diesel engines to become damp and rust.
2. We should take measures such as wind and rain protection. If diesel engines are stored outdoors, dust or rainwater can easily enter small diesel engines through air filters, exhaust pipes, etc.
When not in use for a long time, the machine should be sealed. The sealing method for small diesel engines is as follows.
(1) Drain engine oil, diesel, and cooling water.
(2) Clean and install the crankcase and timing gearbox with diesel fuel.
(3) Maintain the air filter as needed.
(4) Lubricate all moving surfaces. Pay attention to dehydrate the clean engine oil (boil the engine oil until the foam completely disappears), pour it into the oil pan after cooling, and then rotate the crankshaft for 2-3 minutes.
(5) Seal the combustion chamber. Inject 0.3 kg of dehydrated clean oil into the cylinder through the intake pipe. Rotate the flywheel more than 10 times under reduced pressure to apply lubricating oil to the intake and exhaust valves, piston, cylinder, and piston ring. The piston reaches the top dead center, causing the intake and exhaust valves to close. After sealing the seal, install the air filter.
(6) Drain the remaining oil from the oil pan.
(7) Scrub the exterior of the diesel engine and apply rust proof oil to the surface of unpainted parts.
(8) Wrap the air filter and muffler with moisture-proof materials to prevent rainwater and dust.
