Analysis of Management and Control Methods for Safe Use of Electric Welding Machines

The main cause of safety accidents in electric welding machines is that in mechanical processing and maintenance, the use of electric welding machines needs to be rationalized according to corresponding standards, otherwise safety hazards may arise. There are various reasons for safety hazards in welding machine operations, and there are several possible reasons for accidents during operation:

Potential safety hazard

1.Electric shock accidents caused by cable leakage. Due to the fact that the power supply of the welding machine is directly connected to a 2201380V AC power supply, once the human body comes into contact with this part of the electrical circuit, such as the switch, socket, and damaged power cord of the welding machine, it will easily lead to electric shock accidents. Especially when the power cord needs to pass through obstacles such as iron doors, it is easy to cause electric shock accidents.
2.Electric shock caused by no-load voltage of the welding machine. The no-load voltage of electric welding machines is generally between 60 and 90V, which exceeds the safety voltage of the human body. In the actual operation process, due to the generally low voltage, it is not taken seriously in the management process. Moreover, there are more opportunities to come into contact with electrical circuits in other parts during this process, such as welding parts, welding tongs, cables, and clamping workbenches. This process is the main factor leading to welding electric shock accidents. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the issue of electric shock caused by the no-load voltage of the welding machine during welding operations.
3.Electric shock accidents caused by poor grounding measures of welding gengerator. When the welding machine is overloaded for a long time, especially when the working environment is filled with dust or steam, the insulation layer of the welding machine is prone to aging and deterioration. In addition, there is a lack of protective grounding or installation of zero connection devices during the use of the welding machine, which can easily lead to leakage accidents of the welding machine.

Prevention methods

To avoid accidents during the operation of electric welding generator, or to minimize the losses caused by accidents, it is necessary to conduct scientific research and summary on the safety technology of electric welding machines. Targeted prevention measures should be taken before existing problems occur, and corresponding protective measures should be taken for inevitable problems to ensure that the operation can be completed smoothly and safely. The safety measures for the use of electric welding machines will be analyzed, mainly including the following five aspects:

1.Create a safe working environment for welding machines. A safe and stable working environment is the fundamental and foundation for ensuring the smooth progress of welding operations, and is the fundamental prerequisite for avoiding electric shock accidents. The operating temperature of the working environment is generally required to be controlled at 25. 40. Between c, the corresponding humidity should be no more than 90% of the ambient humidity at 25 ℃. When the temperature or humidity conditions of welding operations are special, special welding equipment suitable for the corresponding environment should be selected to ensure the safety level of welding operations. When installing an electric welding machine, it should be placed stably in a dry and ventilated place, while also avoiding the erosion of various harmful gases and fine dust on the welding machine. Severe vibration and collision accidents should be avoided during the working process. Welding machines installed outdoors should be clean and moisture-proof, and equipped with protective equipment that can shield against wind and rain.
2.Ensure that the welding machine meets the insulation performance requirements. In order to ensure the safe and normal use of the welding machine, all live parts of the welding machine should be well insulated and protected, especially between the shell of the welding machine and the ground, so that the entire welding machine is in a good insulation filling state. For safe use of electric welding machines, their insulation resistance value should be above 1MQ, and the power supply line of the welding machine should not be damaged in any way. All exposed live parts of the welding machine should be strictly isolated and protected, and exposed wiring terminals should be equipped with protective covers to avoid electric shock accidents caused by contact with conductive objects or other personnel.
3.Safety performance requirements for welding machine power cord and power supply. An important principle to follow in the selection of cables is that when the welding rod is working normally, the voltage drop on the power line should be less than 5% of the grid voltage. And when laying the power cord, it should be routed along the wall or dedicated column porcelain bottles as much as possible, and cables should not be casually placed on the ground or equipment at the work site. The power source of the welding machine should be chosen to be compatible with the rated working voltage of the welding machine. 220V AC welding machines cannot be connected to 380V AC power sources, and vice versa.
4.Do a good job in protecting grounding. When installing a welding machine, the metal shell and one end of the secondary winding connected to the welding component must be jointly connected to the protective wire PE or protective neutral wire PEN of the power supply system. When the power supply belongs to the IT system or ITI or system, it should be connected to a dedicated grounding device unrelated to the grounding device, or to a natural grounding device. It is worth noting that after the welding machine undergoes a re winding or a section of grounding connected to the welding component cable, the welding component and the workbench cannot be grounded again.
5.Operate according to safety operating procedures. When starting the welding machine, it should be ensured that there is no short circuit path between the welding clamp and the welding component. Even during the work suspension period, the welding clamp cannot be directly placed on the welding component or welding machine. When the power current is not stable enough, the welding machine should not continue to be used to avoid electromagnetic effects caused by drastic changes in voltage and damage to the welding machine. After the welding operation is completed, the power supply of the welding machine should be cut off. If any abnormal noise or temperature changes are found during the operation, the operation should be immediately stopped and a dedicated electrician should be assigned for maintenance. For the current stage of social development, production is essential, but for the long-term development of society, safety production is an issue that requires the attention of the whole society. From the safe use of welding machines to the safe operation of other equipment, while developing productivity, ensuring a safe production environment and process also requires the joint supervision of the entire society.
